The Demon Deacons finish the season 4-8 and 3-5 in the ACC. The brightest spot of the season was defeating rival NC State 20-17 in week 11.
The story of the season was the QB carousel and season ending injuries to QB Ted Stachitas and senior RB Josh Adams. 3 different QBs started games this season, with none of them really emerging as a clear cut leader of the team. There looks to be a wide open battle for the QB spot next season, as all 3 will be back: Stachitas, who started most of the way, will be a junior; Skylar Jones will be a senior and Brendan Cross, the most promising of the group, will be a sophomore.
HB Brandon Pendergrass will enter his senior year as the top RB for Wake Forest after admirably filling in for injured starter, senior Josh Adams, in the second half of the season. Starting WRs Chris Givens and Devon Brown will be back entering their respective junior and senior years, although senior Marshall Williams will be missed. Favorite target TE Andrew Parker will also be back for his senior year. Defensive leader Cyhl Quarles will return for his senior year at the SS position.
Other things to look forward to next year, is the loaded recruiting class that the Deacons have coming in: so far signing 17 recruits, highlighted by 4 star CB Matt Dudley, who could make an impact right away.
Passing:
Stachitas- 1898 yds, 8 TDs, 25 INTS
Jones- 320 yds, 2 TDs, 3 INTs
Cross- 288 yds, 3 INTs
Rushing:
Adams- 511 yds, 5 TDs
Pendergrass- 230 yds, 4 TDs
Receiving:
M. Williams- 32 catches, 761 yds, 3 TDs
Parker- 41 catches, 668 yds, 2 TDs
Givens- 23 catches, 424 yds, 2 TDs
Defensive leaders:
Betros- 52 tackles
Wilber- 8 sacks
Okoro- 3 INTs
